川から湧き上がる温泉 。たいていは水着を着けるが、地元の人はないことも(以前はそれが普通だったみたい)
言わずとしれた混浴 露天 。水着着てはいれますが、更衣室 がチョットとおい(´･ω･`)
宿泊客は夕食 後夜が特におすすめです。

草津温泉 を思い出すあついお湯と冷たくて美味しい空気。
平成23年度から期間変更しました。12月から2月末まで。更衣室 が対岸の民家を借りて新設。
冬季限定、川湯温泉 仙人風呂。川底 から湧き出す温泉 、川を堰き止めた温泉 。
朝6:30～夜10:00まで(2012年1月に確認)
熊野本宮大社から車で数分の距離にある、新宮川支流の大塔川にある川湯温泉。河原を掘れば温泉が湧くという。泉質は単純泉、源泉温度は73℃。温泉旅館の内湯からそのまま河原へ出て自然の露天風呂を楽しめます。そこは自然、男女の仕切りもない混浴。昼間は水着で水遊びで賑やかですが、夜はしっぽり大人の時間。カップルで朧月を見上げながらの夜の入浴がお勧めです。あとは人気のない早朝もお勧めですね。 - Nao

The onsen fee is a bit steep (I think it was more than ¥700 per person), but you get exclusive use of the lovely place for 30 mins. Is it worth it? Definitely! - D Lo
Onsen coffee at the Tea House of Toki-ji Temple. One of the best cups of drip I’ve had in recent memory. Made by the priest/monk who runs the temple. ❤️ - Lisa Grimm
The all-you-can-eat dinner is beyond awful. And insultingly expensive. Better go to the small karaoke bar next to it which serves actually good local food. - N GS
