The food is fabulous, the wine list , superb! I rarely go back to a place I went to once; I had the pleasure to go to Play four times and will go back again. Great with a guest or friends.

Beckta restaurant focused on small-ish plates (the hanger steak & frites is the biggest portion on the menu); everything is delicious from the cheese&charcuterie boards, to the wide variety of wines

The staff here is incredible - they really know their stuff re wine pairings . Play keeps things fresh with a rotating menu (though it wisely always keeps on some of its popular dishes)

They are great with gluten allergies!! They substituted all bread with thinly sliced apple and it was great. I highly recommend this place. Try the pork belly , frites , and cheese plate !

Hangar steak is great, we always have a selection of cheese , had pork belly for first time last visit and it is fantastic. I had Earl Grey creme brulee too - what a treat!

I can't even describe how much I love this place. The cheese plate after 10pm is a great value - especially if you ask for crazy pairings.

I loved the food and wine pairing . Especially the gnocchi / pickled squash / sage / honey / mushroom / chard with the Thirty Bench . The pairing was exceptional.

Bekta restaurants are a safe bet. I had a great dessert that was a combination of different gelato flavours. Yum.

Come for the food and wine ; stay for the mixology . Quality, fresh ingredient cocktails aren't yet common in Ottawa, but Play has tuned in to this resurgent social activity. Try the prosciutto , too.

Gnocchi and octopus are excellent! Too much chips with the tuna tartare . Service is very good.

Go for a romantic , late lunch on a Saturday. Any two items, $20. And try the 3-oz wine : great way to sample more than one vintage!

Can't go wrong with the Frites . The aioli is to die for. Switch it up and order a selection of cheeses for appitizer. You won't be disappointed.

Great atmosphere, food was creative and very good. Portions are tapas style : count 3 dishes per pers. for a regular appetite ($12-15 each).

Delicious but kind of stuffy and overpriced. Wish these kind of places didn't ruin tapas by making portions so small. That being said, a real treat taste wise!

Maybe I came on an off night or I ordered the wrong items but I found our plates a little boring. From all the good reviews it sounds like I'll have to give it another chance.

The dishes are smaller than your average serving size, they're meant to be shared.

From 10pm to close, three wine flights paired with 3 cheeses only $20. Perfect late night snack :)

Not sure if an off night , but it took them 2 hours to get me 2 dishes. The food was mediocre tasting and extremely expensive for "appetizer " portions. I would not recommend to anyone

Small portions ala tapas bar so if you're a hearty eater order many plates. We like the mussels and burger .
