The Galle Face is a promenade which stretches for a half kilometer along the coast in the heart of the financial and business district of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Great place to hang with the locals in Colombo. Lots of food stalls/trucks and you can usually find a crowd flying kites . Come just before sunset to watch the flag-lowering ceremony!
A good place to hangout with your friends and your loved ones while having some isso wade and some roti . Are you right after a boot?this is the place to relax your mind. (from my personal experience)

Evening sunset at the sea is beautiful.. People all around enjoying.. children playing kites with the shape and design of birds, different small food shops.. Enjoyable place to be.
Not only the history and building itself have bought the visitors in town , but also well-known celebrities have reintroduced the face of Galle ^^

During night (around 8 P.M - 9 P.M) if you are going make sure you really want to go because there are less people in this place and you might feel uncomfortable.
Foods at the Nanas (2nd nanas from the gale face hotel side) taste really good.. others sux!!
Galle face is the only entertainment place for Colombo residencies at all levels of income. Nowadays the vehicle parking is a challenging task and the lights were removed and facilities deterioirated.
This is the only nice beach inside Colombo city . Nice place to hangout on Weekends.

Best cuttlefish and deviled prawns of the city . Don't mind the dirty tables.

Sometimes I prefer to use this road over the New Galle Road because it has less traffic specially in the days where the roads are being renovated....
