One of the reasons that they were able to protect many valuable pieces, was Tokugawa had a foundation for this. Clever move. Such a nice Museum , quality over quantity.
If you’re in the area it’s worth a visit but the museum is small and at ¥1200 a bit expensive . The adjoining garden is lovely to stroll around - just ¥150 extra if you get a combination ticket

御三家筆頭であった尾張徳川家 の歴代相伝の家宝（国宝 ９件、重要文化財 ５９件を含む）がたくさん収蔵されています。初代義直（家康第九子）や七代藩主宗春直筆の書状など興味深く、観覧料1,200円以上の価値ありです。
国宝 と重文の多さは国内指折りではないでしょうか。城 の中にあった施設 (茶室 や能楽堂) の再現が素晴らしい。刀マニア垂涎のコレクション もあり。
