Go on the paddle boats (60 yuan/hour for 4 people boat and 80 yuan/hour for 6 people boat as of July 2015) and take the large dragon boats for 15 yuan per one way trip! Best way to explore the palace

In 1990, the Beijing Government undertook the first dredging of the lake in 240 years. 652,600 cubic meters of sludge were removed. 205 Japanese bombs from the Sino-Japanese war were also found.

Boats are really fun here. If you go out on a windy day be prepared to work hard to get back

A big lake for Beijing. Rowing in a small boat or sharing a big one is pretty fun when weather is the good.
