Happy Hour changes daily! Great priced drinks, good music , and a huge patio that you can smoke on! Staff is super friendly and attractive :)
This is where the local gays hangout. Usually cheap to no cover, beer bust on the weekends and events like karaoke or tv watching get together on the week days.
they play hip hop and r&B.. if you are drunk in the castro its a fun place to check out. definitely don't plan a night around this place.

Sunday night karaoke at 8ish, very chill . Good atmosphere, if at least for a stop before heading to the next stop.

Bigger but weird atmosphere most of the time. Has a nice patio in the back but you still can barely hear yourself think.
Steve, Irene and all the other bartenders & staff are what make this place a favorite. Oh and expertly made cocktails are a big plus also!
As the Hot Mess Ambassador for Castro, I must recommend this establishment as it has drinks that are as strong as they are cheap .

Usually go there after work on Friday nights. They have a great happy hour that has 2 for 1 mixed drinks . They make 'em strong too. Yipee!

The plain but lively "Pendulum" was the only bar geared toward black gay men in SF. It was purchased by a notoriously racist owner of block neighbor "Badlands ." There were protests and even lawsuits!
Bit quiet on a Thursday night
Used to take credit cards . Now they're saying they don't and never did. The bartenders have all been coached to say that "Every bar in this neighborhood is cash only ."
Cool patio . Cheap drinks . Not my favorite crowd.
