The museum is bigger than thought, spend 3 hours there . The most beautiful collections are all on top floors , better upside down start from top not bottom
Constructed in 1904, it is built in the Indo–Saracenic style of architecture . It has a remarkable collection comprising approximately 50,000 artifacts originating from different eras of Indian history
This 20th century building houses nearly 50,000 artifacts of art , archeology and natural history . They have a free audio guide which you can get from the information counter.
A museum in 3 floors which has Some litthle sections for Iran(assyrian dynasty) Chinese and japanies art . Not a very big musuem but worth to go and not forget to get photo allowing sticker
Only one or two rooms have a/c so dress appropriately. Which you should be since this is India. Great exhibits and free audio tour with foreigner admission.
Start on second floor and work your way down, the Film on Mumbai in the auditorium near the entry is worth seeing

Liked the ambience of the place. It's spacious and quite and that too in such an upmarket hustling bustling area of Mumbai.

a very crowded place .gateway architecture is amazing here is a must go placs that you don't pay for it.there are lots of ferries there for Elephanta island that you can buy the ticket for 200 roopies - Midia
