Lived and worked in and around the Village since the 80s and never been before tonight which is my loss. Beautiful, delicious and great service! Inside or out back a great NY experience.
Love the atmosphere—has a very winter vibe; fireplace and dark wood. Can imagine coming back on a cold January night. Chicken pot pie was ok, but drink menu totally missed the mark.
A high-end restaurant offering a unique take on American home cooking . We love how the fireplace adds a cozy and comfortable feel. Go with friends, and be sure to order the Chicken Pot Pie !
Excellent service at this old-school restaurant in the Village . We went there for brunch and enjoyed the raisin-pistachio scones , asparagus & goat-cheese omelette ????????
Warm mellow atmosphere, fast service , playlist with decent bass lines . Duck was delicious & so was the wine . Thanks for the recos from the bar . ❤️
The Bitches say: B-. The special atmosphere really carried the brunch experience for us from the moment we stepped inside, but the brunch itself could have had a bit more pizazz. Read more
The Waverly Inn's Eggs Benny, with ham confit , a buttermilk biscuit , and crispy fingerling potatoes on the side, ended up being our favorite dish from our brunch . Read more
Ask for the room in the back. Quaint atmosphere . The waitstaff were nice, attentive. Most of their dishes are reasonably priced (for NYC). I had the $125 macaroni & cheese w/white truffles .????Good wine
Biscuits , I could eat tens of them.. Chicken pot pie & fries is a must! Ask for a table near fire place and oh they're not allow you to instagram your meal, YES..!! ????
Great space, with red leather banquettes & wooden floors but beware the distracting cool-factor. Try the tuna tartare ($16) or splurge on the classic Dover sole with hollandaise & string beans ($46). Read more
Frequent celebrity stops. Great murals . Fun menu. Delicious drinks.
Wonderful brunch with great bellinis . Ask to be seated in the back garden when there's good weather. The greenery is delightful and the food delicious.
Stopped here for brunch . The Waverly is beautiful, absolutely loved the ambiance of both interiors and the garden in the back. On the other side, food is just ok and the service is kinda disappointing
This place is home. The food is great (get a booth ), the decor is perfect (that mural !) and the bar makes a tight martini (kalamata vs green). Classic WV.
Delicious traditional American restaurant . The fish dishes are a great option. AmaZing cellar.
Always a favourite. First time for brunch and the outside dining was perfectly safe.
One of my favorite things about this place is how quiet it is. You'd never guess you were in NYC. Feels like Europe, and the people watching is great.
The key lime creme brûlée was to die for! And you can’t beat the ambiance.
The garden is amazing and they have fireplaces going when it's cold. The food is average for the price range, but I'd still recommend it if you like ambience.
Nice and cozy place, ask for the table in the (covered) garden . In the winter you can enjoy the fireplace .
The menu is low-key, but just received an infusion of new life from Jeffrey Teller, who joined the restaurant this summer from the M. Wells Steakhouse in Queens. Read more
Brunch in the outdoor garden , perfection. Great space, and amazing decor. Great for groups , or a even a date spot .
The place and the service are really good! I loved the octopus (and the drinks)!
Great atmosphere. Like a country pub in the middle of the city . Great back garden , weather permitting.
If you're here for a one time visit, you HAVE to get the mac&cheese -- it is truly one of a kind
Beautiful spot. Surprisingly reasonably priced food but the wine list has some sticker shock. Celeb sightings galore. I sat next to Keith Richards and Fran Lebowitz.
The Sommelier , Molly is wonderful. Very knowledgable and has a great manner with guests. Top recommendation.
Phenomenal ambiance and food – you might be enjoying dinner next to a celeb or a fashion editor. We recommend the Braised Rabbit or the Roasted Amish Chicken .
The place has excellent atmosphere and feels like old NY. Pricey but certain dishes are worth it. Tina Tartare was delish. Truffle Mac and Cheese huge splurge.
Romantic , dark atmosphere. Was perfect for our pre dinner drink!
Filet. Chicken . Mussels orzo special. Decor. Hirschfeld drawings on the WC doors.
As suggested, the truffle mac and cheese is amazing. But so is the burger , the crab cakes , and the tagliatelle .
Good was great! Have to go back for the $100 truffle Mac and cheese . Super cute inside... Cozy up next to their fireplaces !
Biscuits and butter, chicken pot pie , this is high-end home-cooking done right. A NYC staple.
Romance factor is through the roof. Chat with your date by the fireplace and you're sure to end the night with a kiss.
WOW! Get the chicken pot pie . It's incredible. I absolutely loved the atmosphere. Beautiful.
Celebrity hang out. Claims to not have phone# (or at least publish one). Dining room has mural painted by New Yorker artist Edward Sorel. Ghost of Room 16 likes to rearrange room. More info in blog. Read more
Romantic place to get drinks, dinner , or just sit by the fire
Didn't find the food to be amazing. Appetizers were the best part but the space is great. Love the cozy vibe. No photos allowed
Cousy with fireplaces and delicious comfort food
Amazing strip steak
Chicken Pot Pie is awesome ! Grilled/roasted squid starter small but tasty. Well crafted drinks
Excellent place for a brunch . The herb omelette with some scones will leave you fulfilled.
Certainly the place to be seen except a 6:30 dinner otherwise its you, or in my case, me, and the waiters seeing each other. Prime time better!
The Mac and Cheese is a decadent delight at $125 - just go for it. Nice wine selection . Great service. Good food. Amazing location.
Room 16 is the smoking room which is supposedly the favorite room of Waverly’s ghost . Servers claim that the room is haunted by a man in a top hat and waistcoat. Read more
Graydon Carter , editor of Vanity Fair , officially opened this exclusive spot. Instead, Carter told friends who told other friends. Try to snag a walk-in table once the “house family” has cleared out.
Have a drink at the front bar & fireplace , or have dinner by the fireplace in the back garden
Atmosphere beats the overpriced food
Oysters to start, followed by tuna tartare , then... the steak / salmon / short ribs . You can't go wrong!
Great wines and delicious food! Try the grapefruit and avocado salad with a glass of Sancerre. The Pimm's Cup, however, left much to be desired. - Vijaya Thakur
The brisket sandwich and the bread pudding are a must. Staff is super friendly too. - Jessica April
The breakfast cocktail during brunch and the whiskey tea later in the day are my faves. - Maryann Watson
Cupcakes are delicious; try the one with banana, carrot cake and pineapple. - Sarper Boz
Delicious Italian food in the West Village, everything was fresh and tasty. Try the pasta with lemon and parmesan. Don't forget your reservation! - dara lynne
