It can be pretty chilly in the fall. Just be prepared for hot or cold weather. Bring water and snacks . There is a fee to get in - I want to say $7ish for each person. Photos come out great!

The last 6 miles are a dusty road in the middle of nowhere. The buildings still have furniture from when it was deserted after the gold rush ended. Cost is $8 per person and they accept cash only .
Bodie is one of the best preserved gold mining towns ANYWHERE. Stop in the Miner's Union Hall / Museum and sign up for a tour of the ridge or the Stamp Mill .Take your time and enjoy the history! Read more

The last 3 miles are awful with the car but it is the worth. Wonderful ghost city . Closed at 18h ..
Fascinating ghost town . The surviving houses and shops are as they were left – some with the crockery and even newspapers still on the table, with just a few decades of dust.
