Kinabalu Park which covers an area of 754 sq km was gazetted a park in 1964.The basis for the establishment of a protected areas in Kinabalu were formed after a report from the Royal Society Kinabalu Scientific expedition in 1962-1964 led by Prof. Corner.

Beware of leeches after a particularly rainy day! Silau-silau trail is awesome! Liwagu trail was kinda scary sometimes and hardly anyone takes it. We saw a baby snake there!

Drive in and pay the RM3 conservation fee. Reusable at Poring Hot Springs . There are many mini trails strewn along the way, but they are not well-maintained. Have a leisurely walk there.
