Not exactly mom & pop style but for what it is - like a big NYC deli only Cajun - I enjoyed it. Spicy seafood gumbo did not disappoint
You can eat cheaper here than McAlister's plus they have free soft serve ice cream here! The French onion soup is great.

Salad bar is awesome, even better if you get it to go. You can stuff it till its super full!
