Close up to a very active volcano . Nice stop on a drive. We could not visit crater as there was risk of eruption. Still a spectacular view

We had foggy weather so the top was closed. It's still atmospheric to walk around the lake but not a must.

Here's the bus schedule from the gondola down the mountain … check to see if it is operation before going so far!

It's a wonderful drive in the area and all the way up. Depending on winds and gas concentration the top may be closed. Also, watch for turning winds which may bring the gas to you...
