An antique barge tells the story of how goods traveled within the NY Harbor prior to today's system of containerization, bridges, tunnels and the trucking industry. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Barge is the only surviving wooden example of its kind.

This place is neat! If you're up for the trek to Red Hook, Thurs . evenings and Sat. afternoons, cruise this little floating museum for free. It's been docked on Pier 44 since the mid-'90s.
The Waterfront Museum is at Pier 25 for the next week or so! Visit her and Tug Pegasus at the end of N. Moore St. Vote for them both at http://partnersinpreservation.com.
