A piece of history old beautiful exposed brick. Old bar . The food was american Classic comfort. Drinks were strong but fairly priced . The staff was attentive. Food was awesome. A must do!!
the Clark burger with whiskey onions , Cabot cheddar , smoked bacon , & avocado . It truly was one of THE best burgers I've had! For dessert the New York Cheesecake with a blueberry compote !
The signature "Cadillac Burger "—nicknamed by Nat King Cole in the '50s because he thought it was the Cadillac of…well, you get the idea—is everything you want in an old-school, unfussy bar burger . Read more
The ONLY place to eat in Midtown East. Come late at night too. Wonderful Oysters ! Try that Cadillac Burger ...!!.m "One More For The Road " was penned here. Classic, old school NYC!
One of my favorite burger experiences in NYC. It's a straightforward simple burger but so good. It did take 15 min past our reservation to get our table ready, so build that into your expectations.
Excellent burger . Very similar to other old school burger joints like J.G. Melon . If it's your first time, go for the cadillac.
The cheese burger is brilliant! One of my all time favorites. Medium done, it melts in your mouth, and the partially fried pickles were the best part. The fries were excellent too.
P.J. Clarke's is where you eat in Midtown East when you're stuck working late on a Monday. But understand others will have the same idea, and not all of those people will be sober. Read more
Love this place. The burgers make any New Yorkers "top 10" list. Great traditional New York bar . They make an awesome (but expensive @ $16) Bloody Mary too. Friendly bartenders and a local crowd .
Brick walls, dark wood, old black-and-white photos and the quintessential New York burger . You can have it all right into the wee hours of the morning, just like Sinatra used to do. Read more
The Clarke burger is my go-to. Straightforward but aint plain jane. Medium, w/ cheese , and a malbec . You’d think the sea salt fries takes on a supporting role- nope, it’s a star in its own right too .
While the burgers are amazing here, don't overlook the chicken pot pie . Be sure to get yourself a side of the hash brown potatoes , they're amazing!
Everyone was right about the burgers ! Wow! I liked the trio of sliders . All great choices. The fry portion is massive!
One of the best 'classic New York' bars in town . It certainly has the best personality of any place in East Midtown. Nice mix of old-skool charm and modern(ish) food/drink.
Probably the best burgers in NYC!! Definitely don't miss it and you shall visit over and over again!! Bar is great too for after work drinks! A don't miss spot in NYC!!
An iconic bar and restaurant , with tons of history and great food. The burgers were amazing, and the sweet potato fries are delicious. Will definitely come back.
Amazing burger place . Wagyu bacon cheddar burger is one of my favorite burgers . Buttered Naked Lobster Roll was also outstanding, and the lobster is so good.
Trying the traditional burger , yummy! And I really liked the Brooklyn lager beer . Totally recommend it!

This bar was frequented by the likes of Buddy Holly, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mercer, JFK, and Dick Clark. Try the bacon cheeseburger , dubbed "the Cadillac of burgers " by Nat King Cole .

"The Cadillac" is honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had! Reasonable price for a juicy, delicious burger .
The burgers here are awesome and they're made even better when paired with the onion strings . Good for a casual lunch or dinner . Keep an eye out for the old school bathrooms as well .
PJ Clarke's building on 3rd Ave was built in 1868, becoming a bar in 1884. It became a destination for the rich & famous, including Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy, & Nat King Cole . - From Eater NY
A NYC classic with true staying power. Burger just as I remembered it and good to see the place as packed as it was pre Covid.
Awesome! Nice old pub with authentic interior. The cadilac burger good. Very quick, moderate prices
Lovely service and good old American comfort food served fresh and yummy! Crab cakes are a delight as well as garlic fries !
Very nice food and service! The chopped Sirloin is amazing! The Caddilac is very good but by the reviews I expected more.
Blue cheese lovers need to try the BBQ Blue Cheese Burger , it's even better than the Cadillac. Shoe string onion rings are great as well .
Burgers are very good. The Sunday night lasagna is fantastic. A bit of a tourist trap. Prices are high, but so is the quality of the food.
Best burgers in New York by far. Actually I'll go out on a limb and say they're the best burgers I've ever tasted.
very good hamburgers in a nyc's classic! we had the apple pie too (really really good!!)
The burgers have just the right amount of char to give the surface some crunchy, chewy bits to play against the soft, juicy interior.
Wonderful burgers ! Good variety of craft beers . And the space is beautiful! Old school and perfect! 🍔 🍺
Very good hamburgers ! and delicious apple pie for dessert ! full of people so be prepared to wait around 20 min for a table
One of the best burgers . No nee to add anything other than cheese . So juicy!! The onion rings are great but huge portion (too much just for two).
The beer comes in mid size mugs and the burgers are incredible. Go with simply bun w/ a little extra. don't over do it. I love it here.
Hasn't changed since I was here last time, which was over seven years ago. In my opinion that's no bad thing. Fantastic; a must visit.
Haven’t been back here in a while and it’s still as good as I remember. The black pepper burger medium rare all the way!!!
The original and classic location. Had the Clarke burger with raw onion . Delicious and worth traveling uptown for the meal.
Grab the bacon cheeseburger or the Reuben with the fries and union strings. Everything was great, ended the meal with the NY Cheesecake . Perfect night out!
Built 1868 (originally four stories). P.J. Clarke's was established in 1884 and operated continuously since. It has been frequented by a number of famous people and featured in films , TV , and songs.
One of the the best Tom Collins I've ever had! The burger is really good, but not the best in NYC. Fried Mac and cheese is tasty.
Yeah, the burger , but their Lobster Roll with an order of french fries is the business! Only on Wed. though. Lobster mac-n-cheese is another good item. Only on Fridays though.
The burgers are simple, but the meat is really delicious. Also, their size is reasonable, not huge. The fries are great!
Year after year, decade after decade, P.J.’s has always been, quite simply: The place. If you live in New York, P.J. Clarke’s needs no introduction.

Come up here for a drink after eating downstairs. Take your time walking up the stairs and look at all the old photos and maps of NYC.
The cadillac is amazing! Top it off with shoe string fries and a brooklyn lager or 2 or 3. Sooo goood! Service is friendly and prompt! Atmosphere is relaxed.
