Beautiful canalside country pub . Very tasty food menu. Great real ales .
recent visit has been quite disappointing for a place that I generally rate well . £60 for 2 adults & a child Sunday lunch was deplorable, the veg with black spots on them along with other issues!!
I find the Black Horse a hit & miss for food & service. Am not sure what to expect sometimes. There is a lovely lady Julie & that work there but not full time, she makes our experience worth while
The food is very yummy, portions are big, great value for money & brilliant service from lovely Julie
Just been recently the food is still yummy, updated delicious menu, great atmosphere but service gone a bit backwards could be much better!
Nice pub with friendly staff and Doom Bar on tap . Good to sit out by the canal in summer.
Great food, great atmosphere with fireplace and decorations.Great service. Will visit again !
Beers . Staff . Food. Setting. All fantastic!
Lovely place to stop for a refreshing drink after a canalside bike ride . Nice and quiet in the afternoon.
Loved the Apple & Gooseberry crumble with custard
The salted caramel and chocolate is to die for!
Loved the 'skinny' i.e. carb free minted lamb burger
This place used to be good but recently changed hands and has shot downhill. 3 meals ordered, all really bad, poor quality food and served on very dirty plates. Won't be back for food again.
This is a brilliant country pub .
Thought about giving this beautiful building another chance having had poor service in the past, but after a curt 'welcome' from the guy behind the bar , will give it a miss from now on. A shame.
Nice beer and decent food but service the slowest I have ever experienced, the canal boats passing by are speed boats by comparison.
By the canal its lovely
Some nice guest ales n beers . But sometimes the service a little on the slow side.
Service slow, as staffing level pushed.
Steak beer wasn't very cold.
Steak çok sert pişmiş
Pleasant canal side pub with a lovely beer garden & children's play area. Cosy main bar with a fire in Winter. - Carl Griffin
Really great food for low prices. Creative presentation, good variety in a hotel dating back to 1480. Assistant Manager Aron went out of his way to make sure we had a great evening. - Dieter Buchner
