五色沼 is a lake Sendai located in Japan.
青葉区川内26 (青葉山公園内 / 仙台城跡) Sendai , Miyagi 980-0862 Japan
明治中期、外国人たちがこの場所でスケート を始め、明治42年(1909)頃に第二高等学校生 がドイツ 語教師 ウィルヘルからフィギュアスケート の指導 を受けたという。後に彼等や後輩たちが全国各地で普及に努めたことから、五色沼はフィギュアスケート発祥 の地と言われている。（説明版より）
仙台城 の外堀で、三の丸の北側にある。明治の中頃から外国人がここでスケート を始め、後に学生がその指導 を受けた。その経緯から「日本フィギュアスケート発祥 の地」とされている。
仙台市博物館 の入口、五色沼という池 の東側の畔にあります。
