説明看板⇒『瓢池（ひさごいけ） 昔この辺りを蓮池庭といい兼六園発祥の地 である。池 は瓢箪型をしているので後に瓢池と名づけられた。前方の翠滝 は安永三年(1774年)につくられたものである。』
兼六園始まりの地 であるここは、後から造成された池 より低い位置にあります。そのため、滝 などを楽しむこと ができ見た目にも華やかです。
春は桜が咲きほこり、池 への写り込みが非常に綺麗です。
運が良ければ、カワセミを見ること ができます。
「ひさごいけ」と読む。中央に滝 、右に灯籠 、左に加賀料亭の三芳庵がある。
