The monumental cemetery is also called the Campo Santo (the holy field ) because it is said to have been built around a shipload of sacred soil from Golgotha brought to Pisa in the 12th century!

Almost in original style. Not much has been restored.

It is a must see monument , together with the tower, the cathedral and the baptistry

La cosa più bella del complesso, lascia a bocca aperta, enorme, sproporzionato ti rende piccolo.

Come dice Curzio Malaparte "quello di Pisa è il Campo Santo, tutti gli altri sono cimiteri ".
