The Coola Boola coffee kiosk by the ticket machines (downstairs) is worth a try. Great coffee & cool friendly 'baristas ' ;-)
When the cash point is the ticket area is out of order head round to the centre for life (left out of the main station doors) for the nearest cash point .
Even though it is said to be 9 minutes from train station to metro in train companies web site; one can walk in 2 minutes actually. Metro ticket machine does not accept Scottish Pounds.
