Egg coffee is super delicious. Shop is through a small alley. Upstairs seating has a nice atmosphere. Egg coffee is VND20,000 (March 2016). Can get busy.
Great place for foreigners, wanting to try something special in Hanoi! Coffee with egg can sound creepy, but if you will try that sweet treat once, you will fall in love!! Good prices too!! ^^

Nguyen Van Giang featured his invention cà phê trứng (“egg coffee ”) here shortly after inventing it at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel in 1946. His son still serves it here, though it moved twice.
Order the Cafe Trung . It's the famous Egg coffee . Say hello to the staff and make your way upstairs. Once the coffee arrives, make sure to mix. Coffee settles at the bottom. Pay on your way out.
Great egg coffee . Supposedly the best in Hanoi. It IS very sweet, but the portions are small so definitely worth a try in Hanoi. Can be hot or iced, I tried both - iced version will be less sweet

We tried the chocolate egg coffee hot and iced, matcha ("green bean ") iced, and regular hot and iced. Regular egg hot or iced was my favorite.
Egg coffee sounds strange but it is definitely not raw egg + coffee (most people’s first impression). Creamy, smooth, tastes nothing like eggs , perfect pairing with the dark strong viet coffee .
Egg ? Coffee ? Um...yeah!!! That sweetness and creaminess...it's delish beyond my imagination!!! Love love love. Already decided to return for a cold one later today
When in Vietnam; always find the way upstairs. The entrance to this place is sneaky but once you find it, go in & up - the second floor is full of trees ! :) Beautiful.
#eggcoffee Recommended by my local tour guide and no regrets...be sure to drop by if you want an authentic egg coffee experience.

The iced egg coffee is a classic, but try the other non-caffeinated options like matcha egg or cinnamon egg . All delicious.

"Egg ???? coffee ☕️ with Rum and a spoon ????" -- a kind of a taste that you know that it is going to be hundred percent missed.
Egg coffee 's a little weird but definitely worth getting. The egg white sits on top and the coffee stays on the bottom, so mix it up!
