The view is great, there are some urban murals that you can appreciate and of course a brief explanation about the earthquake . It’s a nice place if you want to visit before going and eat Kobe Beef ????
Sad... But, we need to remind the tragedy.

1995年1月17日、淡路島 北淡付近を震源とする直下型地震が発生。その当時、甚大な被害を受けた神戸港 （メリケン パーク）の岸壁の一部 を港湾機能復旧に邪魔にならない場所で保存 したもの。目に見える震災の爪跡。
おそらく現存する震災の爪痕はここと阪神公団の震災資料保管庫に保管された橋脚や倒壊した橋梁のみだろう。
地震当時のまま保存 されている。
震災によって崩れたメリケン 波止場の一部 をそのままの形で見れるように保存 されたエリア。夜はライトアップがなさ れる。
