We camped at Long Pine Key Campground for 2 weeks and had an awesome time. Better than Flamingo because you still get cell service and lots of walks in the area. Beware of sinkholes in the limestone!
Besides the opportunity to spot American alligators , Everglades National Park is home to around 400 species and around 31 warbler species. Talk about a wildlife paradise!
The Anhinga Trail is a quick, easy boardwalk hike . Bring a camera (and bug spray) because there is so much wildlife here!

Best camping EVER! I recommend Flamingo at the very end of the Everglades. Campon the beach/marsh and wake up to dolphins playing at the shore!
Come back at night with a powerful flashlight - you'd be able to see gators under the water and spot small ones by the shine of their ones - something that sunlight just wouldn't let you do.

Beautiful park to explore. Drove through, stopping to take a walk at each place of interest. Petrol is $5.5 a gallon at Flamingo so fill up before you enter the park! Boat tours are $37.50 each. - Liv Adshead
