My parents and I fell in love with the hotel and city . This was probably the first time I truly experienced a 5-star service and quality hotel in NZ. The staff were very professional and welcoming.

Ask for a lake view room on 3rd / 4th floor when checking in - the “thermal valley” rooms have no view at all. Try the pancakes at breakfast - it’s not on the menu , but included in the full brekkie
Fantastic hotel - great view of the lake , right next door to De Brett's Spa an the Thermal pools. Lovely dinner menu but disappointing breakfast .
The pool is the main attraction here. Doors are done in series to limit noise travelling through corridors
