McGarvey's is a local institution. The crowd is a little more reserved and you won't find any D.J.'s or live music here. But it's definitely worth a stop on your crawl.

This is my favorite getaway when I'm in the DC area I make the short drive to Annapolis and enjoy the bakers dozen raw oysters and a pint. Don't forget to try the Crab Cakes

Great ambiance, food & drink in a lodge-type setting! Try the crab bean soup , spinach dip , crab dip , and crab cakes ! OMG! SO good!

Crab cake sandwich is one cake , crab cake dinner is two. Best to order both to get your fill 🙏🏼

I came here mid afternoon on a weekday causal vibe and had the Maryland Seafood Cream Soup … it was grant! Staff and bartenders are great.

Cheap , delicious local bakers dozen of oysters right near the water. All. The. Time.

Raw bar is worth it! Drinks are well made and quickly delivered. Service is solid.

If you want to sit outside, you MUST order food! Go during Happy Hour and order a crab pretzel , then enjoy the view !

The crab dip is dense and delicious, but not a ton — enough for two people easily, three tops.

The oysters are scrumptious! And although I like them unadorned, their horseradish is outstanding.

Maryland vegetable crab soup was amazing!

Try the Cuban Black Bean soup but be careful because it comes out steaming hot! Wonderful texture and a delicious blend of flavors, you won't find anything better in a 10 mile radius!

Crab dip IS excellent, but you should always get the nachos - extra cheese . Get both - they go really well together. Not for dieters, of course:)

Good beer list , can get a bit crowded .

Be sure to have the house brew Aviator , truly a unique great tasting microbrew

Oyster special is great! Mon-Fri 4 till 8 $6 per dozen! And $5 crab dip Mon-wed 4 till 8. Yum!

It was ok, food was ok, servers all seemed grumpy, and out of the house beer . Nothing special or exceptionally delicious. Would I go here again, probably not.

Yeah, not great. If you're an Oyster Bar , you should, at least, have decent oysters . McGarvey's were completely without taste.
