Super cozy spot that's as intimate as it is spacious . Safe bet when you have friends visiting who want a taste of Brooklyn without getting too weird.
John Hodgman (of Daily Show and Mac & PC fame among other things) has been hosting a somewhat weekly show downstairs called Secret Society. Catch it if you want cheap smart funny comedy .
Bocce (traditional Italian bowling ), Bronx Double IPA , and amazing friends. The three defining experiences here at Union Hall.
It's easy to spend the whole afternoon here. Wait for one of the couches to open by the fire and lounge around while ordering drinks, snacks , or real food. Bocci leagues occupy courts on Sunday's
Kinda thought the spot would be a bit dumpy but it’s actually very nice, bocce is well maintained and good little performance space in the basement
Bar menu expanded from signature beer-cheese on Ritz to deep-fried Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and wild boar sausage . Good selection of beers on tap , hops always goes well with kitsch. Read more
Good place to take the parents, when visiting. Something for everyone and a bit out of the ordinary.
Library , bocce court , bar , lounge , club - this place has it all. Well worth the trip to Brooklyn - will be back for sure.
Get there early to grab a seat! Also, this may make me sound like a wimp but they have really tasty ginger ale for those nights you just can't stomach alcohol .
Grab a comfy chair by the fire and have a pint and an order of sliders . Or enjoy a game of bocce . Or venture downstairs for a live show or a spelling bee.
This looks like a library ! Got a negroni (well my bf did...I got a whiskey ginger and it wasn't much to talk about) and that was perfectly made. Good atmosphere!
The cozy fireplace area is perfect on cold Brooklyn nights. (If you can grab a seat.)
Browse the vintage tomes that line this bar 's walls with a bookish date, or head downstairs for one of the venue’s music or comedy shows, such as Eugene Mirman’s weekly Pretty Good Friends. Read more
Great place to have a drink and play some bocce ball .
Quite possibly my favorite Brooklyn bar . Bocce courts on the top floor, decorated like a library , concert/dance parties in the basement , and weather permitting an outdoors area .
Refreshingly large bar for NYC with a relaxed, neighborhood atmosphere. Enjoyed the Union Hall Iced Tea . Lots of couches , small courtyard , and bocce ball !
For a chilled out night by the fireplaces next to the humongous bookcase or a fun night out with friends playing pétanque
bocce and beers , but gets a bit brotastic on the weekend. they have great music in the basement and the burger with fig spread is delicious.
One of my favorite bars in the slope. Good amount of space and perfect for a first date—not fancy but not horribly divey.
Cool place. Mostly young people, great little place downstairs to hear local bands and they were great too! Great vibe.
Bocce ball courts, wall-to-ceiling bookshelves and fireplaces , and an underground music and comedy venue make Union Hall a destination favorite.
Bocce ball , fireplace , books everywhere, plush leather furniture , good vibes and music , nice bartenders , aesthetic is basically Dumbledore's library .
This place is the be-all end-all in Brooklyn bars - from live music to bocce ball , taxidermy to comfy sofas and roaring fires, it symbolizes everything that's great about drinking in this borough.
Excellent bar with a ton of space and a comfy feel that makes getting drunk feel just a little more awesome.
Fantastic bar to hang out in. Cavernous yet cozy with plenty of seating, couches , a fireplace and 2 Bocci courts!
There's a load of great beers here. Grab a seat and read one of the books in the cozy fireplace nook.
Love this spot!! $4 original sin so that I can feel like I'm havin' a beer while my friends really are! Indoor bocce ball ...and a faux library with comfy seats . Good for drinkin' and people watching<3
Between the bocce , downstairs indie club & the outdoor beer garden , you won't know what to do with yourself. My tip: Have one of their 40+ beer selections . Cool fact: downstairs bathroom is coed.

Curl up next to the fireplace , have a chat with no TV blasting. Or see a show downstairs . You never know what will be on display.
This place is huge—15,000 feet, former warehouse huge. It’s so cavernous that it becomes like a dozen private bars . Just watch out for couples getting…a little too cozy on the couches .
Grab a seat on a weekday after work and checkout a comedy show afterwards. You'll appreciate the quietness as opposed to the noisy weekend crowd.
A great, cozy bar where you can curl up on big, leather-tufted couches next to a fire; get social playing bocce ball or partake in their rotating events downstairs.
Sit upstairs where the walls are covered with leather-bound books and a fire roars in front of comfy couches . It’s sort of like the library-meets-bar you wish you had when you went to college.
Bocce ball ! Great vibes at this Park Slope bar . Nice place to come in the winter with the fireplaces going
beer , bocce ball , and bands. what more could you ask for?
If you happen to love bocce ball and live music , you’re in luck. Roll a game up top and head downstairs afterwards for a live set from a sure-to-be-cool band. - Jim Shearer, Top 20 Countdown

Buy any draft beer of your choice (they have quite the selection on tap) and get a free personal pizza! Good deal for tasty beer and bar food. - The Brew Noob
The chicken and fries platter are good and the SAUCES ARE BOMB! The private room karaoke are a little street (worn and torn) looking so if your into that kind of aesthetic you will be at home. - D W
Local! Don't try to joke with the bartender. No nonsense but fun place to hang. Cute dogs allowed. About 4 different drafts on tap - Brigette K.
