Beautiful place to spend a day, great views and walks, had a very nice boat trip around the lake and there is lots of places to eat.

Brilliant Lake has cruises on the lake all kinds of boat to go on, also plenty of wild birds a tourist shop on the edge of the lake does good trade.

A cruise on the lake is well worth it, even if you just go for a round trip. For under tenner a person, not that badly priced, considering!

The most accessible lake in the Lake District , but fewer walks. Can get busy but lots of shops if you don’t want to walk

Cockshott Point is a nice place to take a walk along from WMV to Bowness, complete with benches to sit and admire the scenery.

A very wonderful lake . Only that in Zell Am See (possibly Interlaken, Chipetes and Lugano) matches it.

National Trust members get free parking in (almost) all National Trust car parks . There are loads dotted around the Lakes .

I suggest going to Ambleside, Windermere is now dirty , full of bird poo everywhere you walk, no where to park and everything is over priced and quite boring!!
