This is a wonderful place to enjoy nature, camping , wildlife and a great hike ! They have hikes for all levels and ages too!
Great camping spots. Store is super expensive - bring food with you and store it in the bear locker. Fire pits are the coolest.
Make sure to bring chains during winter time. They're required to get in and pretty expensive to rent (when actually available) nearby.
Make sure to call or check for when car "chains" are required to get in. Chains are expensive nearby like $90-$100!!!
Amazing place, but it's wilderness. Be aware that you probably won't have cell service within the park . Be safe, drive the speed limit & make sure that you have plenty of gas and adequate clothing .
If you plan well , you can see lots of the park I one day. Have food in car and follow map! Love trails and trees !
Great view , different trails , wild animals. All trails can't be cowered with one day, but the most beautiful places can
These trees are so amazing. Make sure you walk the meadow path in the Giant Forest next to the Giant Forest Museum . Absolutely stunning.
Beat the crowd by going in spring. Accomodation is limited so book in time. And don't be afraid to drive in the snow.
One of the most incredible sights in the United States . Be sure to visit Grant Grove Village and the General Sherman tree - one of the largest on Earth.
When leaving the park toward the Ash Mt entrance (198 to 3 Rivers ), put your car in 1st / L gear. You will almost never have to touch your brakes. If you want to go slow, use turnouts allow passing :)

Had a bear sighting in crescent meadow . Beautiful place. Listen to the others and do Moro Rock and General Sherman .
A long & winding road takes you to the top of the mountain to see the tall forest and General Sherman. Beware the wild black bear .
If you're slow going up the hill , please use the turnouts. Thank you.
Start at Moro Rock, then go to Crescent Meadow and follow the trail to Tharp's Log, on the way back take a picture at Tunnel Log
Both are great. Temperature & weather conditions change a lot throughout the park
The Road reconstruction is finished and the drive is spectacular. The Bridge in Cedar Grove is also finished. No more delays.
