Love going for walks on the common in any weather! Lovely in the sun, nice and refreshing in the wind.
In 1138, when Portsmouth was growing through imports/exports, French troops landed and heavily destroyed the town . Townspeople managed to fight them back against the land that is now Southsea Common.
