Worth visiting with amazing history behind. Retaining the purity of the shrine is so important that no deaths or births have been permitted near it. Highly recommended. Approx half day trip

Miyajima has been worshiped as a divine island since ancient times. This is why the shrine was built on the seashore where the tide ebb and flows.

The contrast of the blue sea, green hills and the vivid vermillion-lacquered shrine is breathtakingly beautiful.

The O-Torii is beautiful at high tide , although it's still a good picture for your album at low tide . With a good angle, you can always take a great picture at sunset .

Here is the famous torii in Miyajima. Entrance fee was cheap (400¥) and shrine is very beautiful

Definitely would recommend going at high tide . There are deer just roaming around the island !! (Guard your map and paper valuables from them).

Beautiful. I personally preferred seeing it at high tide and sunset . Walking up to it at low tide is interesting but super wet and damp. My shoes were not prepared

besides the Great Otorii , Itsukushima shrine built along the coast has beautiful scenery in different tidal moments

You can hike to the top of mountain or walk halfway and take a gondola for views of Hiroshima and surrounding countryside!

There is more than one boat. The combination pass you buy at the Hiroshima station light rail is not JR. Go to the boats on the left.

もみじ 饅頭がお土産 に有名だと紅葉 をイメージしちゃうけど、桜の時期もよい。夕方になると鳥居前が写真 スポットです。アンダー気味に曇天日陰モードで人だかりを入れて撮ってみてください。かなりいい写真 になりますよ。夜間の灯篭も雰囲気を盛り上げる。
