The market is amazing, with 5 halls, each with their own theme (such as meat, fish etc). Surrounded by a marketplace full of tables. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality and sheer size of it.

One of the biggest markets in Europe , built from abandoned German 1st World War Zeppelin hangars . Try cottage cheese snack "Kārums" in Milk Pavilion and ask for sauerkraut juice in Vegetable pavilion .

Beautiful, huge market where locals get their food - since 1930. Look out for the grandma's that have probably bought their tomatoes here since they were little girls!

Regardless the fact that you need or not to buy something, this huge market housed in former zeppelin ' s hangars it's a must - see. For residents, this is the main source of fresh and tasty food.

Europes largest market and bazaar, built in the beginning of 20th century, hosting more than 3000 trade stands. If you go there, try not to look like tourists , and please take care of your belongings.

Wide choice of fruits , vegetables , meats, fish , dairy... Doughnut shop inside one of the pavilions is to try. Also Uzbek bakery between fish and vegetable pavilions .

Impressing, but a lot of empty booth places. Local café seems not to like tourists (just ignored us). Meat, cheese and fish unlimited. Fresh veggies and fruits outdoors. Worth a visit!

It's a super big market , you can find many cheap food, vegetable , fruit , bread , cakes , meat and fish there. Even a cup of coffee :)

Def worth a perusal. Good is cheap and tasty. Apple/cinnamon braided bread/pastry is great, so is the sweet bread with yellow cream. Check out "NON"; they have excellent samsas

The choice is the one what makes this place special. Didn't like it at one counter, just get to another one. Also great bonus - Spanish shops, the wine , olives and tuna .

More an overhyped farmers market-cum-flea market than anything else. The architecture (former hangars ) is the real draw, unless you're dying to stock up on veggies and cheese .

#UltimateRiga: Wonder around the endless pavilions of an enormous food market and grab tasty local products - look for the longest lines inside pavilions and make sure it's not imported.

Prices in the outer rows are much higher than inside..walk a bit more closer to the flower stand and Spikeri side and you will see the difference

Don't forget to ask for a glass of cabbage juice in the vegetable pavillion. Daily dose of vitamin C!

very big market , i felt like in Russia, 'cause i don't speak latvian and they don't speak english, so we had to talk in russian ???? lots of foods!

This Market has an incredible composition because every department is quite specific, and the building is very impressive.

I have not seen a larger market in Europe . Busy and exciting!

If you like to look at food and want to see what produce Riga has to offer, this is the place. Too bad the stalls don't sell prepared food. We had hoped to get lunch here but were disappointed.

Visit the meat hall and try to buy a nice piece of lamb , without speaking either Latvian or Russian. It's a lot of fun, and the meat is good.

Perfect place to buy fresh and nice grocieries. :-)

All grandmothers come here. If you still wondering why the bus is full with. Grandma they all role up here buy some stuff. And Yes aw curse fish that smell in bus on summer session are awful!

Hard to like this place because of the bums, hard to not like it because of the prices.
