The former Slave Lodge , one of the city 's oldest buidings, has served as government offices and the Supreme Court. Now the SA Cultural History Museum , it has displays on slavery and antiquities .
Built in 1663, burnt down and rebuilt in1679, this building housed as many as 1000 'inmates' - about 600 slaves, as well as convicts, political prisoners and 'lunatics' in the 17th/18th centuries. Read more
Very informative & heart breaking place
This musuem have insulted the islamic religion by misleading the audiences that Islam is against the women rights! Which is not true. It is a shame.
Important museum !
Disappointing collection. Perhaps we were wrongly lead to believe it was about slavery but only 20% of the museum 's dedicated to it.

No esperéis mucho sobre esclavitud. Menos de 1/4 parte está dedicado a el pasado como almacén de esclavos del edificio.
