Excellent service and good food. Great round table in an alcove which offered the benefit of being slightly tucked away but still in the action and more importantly not forgotten by staff :)

Unique appetizers - hummus platter , triple baked fries , vegetable samosas-smaller portions, but really good.

The food is embarrassing. Ive worked in Michelin starred restaurants . Serving a "main course" with 1 piece of Ravioli and.. painfully embarrassing!

Friendly local with decent pub-grub! Food here is much better than The Mitre (overpriced!), the cock & hen (bleh) & the Elk Bar (which is good for a bit of boogie!)

Just been taken over and improved considerably. Cumbrian Rib of Beef cooked in Hay, for 2!

Starters (salmon ) was a little on the small side.

The beef burger was very nice. Not the best beer selection though...
