Grey's Monument is a monument Grainger Town Newcastle upon Tyne
Blackett St. (Grainger St.) Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7AL United Kingdom
Gets a bit busy around here at the weekend... Especially now there's a market on and there's a big screen showing all the sports right beside it.
Big column with a statue dedicated to Earl Grey . Focal point of the city
The monument is great, ruined by the giant television opposite showing the BBC news channel at full volume.
Someone's put a bloomin great stone pole in the centre of this place. Watch you don't bump into it. It's a health and safety nightmare.
Be sure to read the inscription: he’s not just famous for the tea .
Keep an eye out for the charity workers who will zone onto you around here. (and down Northumberland Street)
A good place to do sun basking. The place for all Sunday or festive markets .
Great centre piece of the city .
A must see in NCL
A nice place to sit and listen to the buskers
Watch out for the freaks camping out round the monument , lets hope for some very cold weather and snow!!
Crowded during the weekend. Famous meet up spot!
