Founded in 1836, the Georges is a Lyon institution. It’s cavernous art deco interior was an engineering feat for its time. The choucroute (sauerkraut ) & omelette norvegienne (baked alaska ) are great.
“An Art Deco jewel serving traditional local cuisine like tablier de sapeur, or pan-fried tripe , and wonderfully fresh seafood . It’s one of the few brasseries to brew its own beer .” - Georges Desrues Read more
Great authentic place. Delicious food. Nice waiters . Serve their own-made beer .
Atmosphere is really excellent, the experience of a big Brasserie , with lot of noise, very good though simple local food, funny ceremonies for the anniversaries. Always impresses me.
What impressed me the most was how delicious was the Chou of the choucroute ! Enough said: the place is a must go to!
Wifi : BG1836bg You're welcome, world!
Umbelivable place. Amazing big space with beautiful decoration and delicious food and beer . You must visit this restaurant when in Lyon.
A classic French brasserie with corresponding classic brasserie cuisine in an art nouveau setting.
The perfect French dinner on a great summer evening: outdoor, a dozen of excellent escargots , an unforgettable steak tartare and a bottle of champagne .
The oldest and biggest Brasserie in France- it can seat up to 600 persons. Try the Steak Tartare which is prepared at your table !
Waiting for a table (almost an hour) is a part of the experience. ???? Big portions . Nice people.
Make sure you leave room for the omelette norvégienne . Yum!
Lovely Art Deco interior with high quality traditional French food . Come here for your birthday!
Authentic brasserie . Interesting experience and amazing decor, but mediocre food
The steak tartare didn't sit well with my stomach. Taste wise, I'd prefer to have more of everything -- onions , mustard , salt and pepper .
The Choucroute Royale was very good, great beer and lovely atmosphere. During dinner , lights went down for at least ten birthday cakes !
Massive Art Deco dining room is stunning. Highly recommend the beef bourguignon . Boasts a lively atmosphere that is unrivaled in Lyon.
The oysters are really good. The service is professional!
Institution. Lots prepared up front. Not overwhelmed by steak tartare .
So good but expensive . Paid 120 euro for cheese , fish and ice cream
I am very disappointed with this place! Staff was extremely impolite, nobody greeted us upon arrival, the waiter came in 10 minutes! We even didn't ordered from the menu!
I would not recommend this place. It feels like the huge lobby of a train station . I had onion soup and quenelle. Both were correctly served, hot, but tasteless, spiritless, uninteresting.
Good French food , so crowded
Poor food quality. Bad. Service friendly when it was offered, which was never again after you were seated. At end, server asked if it was good? Said no. Didn't ask why. Charged full amount. Good luck.
Steak tatare prepared at our table
Try the fish sea bass , u won't sorry.
Traditional food . A very big place.
Another instance of French making the worst fries . You pay for the atmosphere, not so much for the food. Difficult to get to as a pedestrian, so don't bother
Their own cheese is good
Fantastic place! Great atmosphere and food! Recomended!
Menu is perfect
Nice place, excellent service and good food.
The "choucroute " is marvelous
Must try homemade beer Cheers!
Great ambience, good food..
French kitchen! You are totally lie. Aka, "Ancelotti bana hikaye anlatmasın"
Steak tartare ..
Omelette norvégienne
Deliciouse????
Choucroute
Delicious!
Service décevant ????
Best food in Lyon!
Excellente brasserie !
Fantastische ambiance.
Carte cuisine traditionnelle lyonnaise. On mange bien.
One of a Paul Bocuse restaurants. Outstanding food, and great service. I highly recommend the lamb, and cheese for dessert. - Anastasia Belozertseva
Don't go if you are not drunk enough???? very crowded and hot inside also it stinks! - Seyhan
Great food and staff. They have a mini rain track along the ceiling. The grilled salmon is amazing. - Siddhi Dhavale
There is also a Market in Sunday morning when other stores are closed do that you will not starving to death ;) - Chi Bingting
It is in the heart of lyon. Great shopping area. Even if it is in downtown Lyon the prices are decent to normal. - Diana Cristiana
