Nice attraction in the old quarter in Hanoi ! Puppets are great and the musicians/singers also good. Will take 50min of your time and 100000VND but worth it, you should try.
You'll enjoy the show if you love traditional folk art . Get ticket early for the front rolls to get closer to see greater details. Tickets at 100k and 60k dong. Quite inexpensive .
Good experience although i didnt understand words, it was beautiful to hear traditional music and instruments and watch something completely unique.
I love the show is super cute !!!❤️ Get the first raw is the best view , I sat in the 4th line and I felt far. There is a bit of mosquitos, wear long pants better.
If you want to watch water puppet show in vietnam, this is the place. Unique and entertaining. Many showtimes a day but come early to buy tickets as many are pre-booked by tour groups.
It is way too long, especially since the puppets don't move around very much, but you definitely should go while you're in Hanoi as it goes by pretty quickly. Book early for a better seat.
Wish that I can understand what they are saying in the introduction and the lyrics of their song. It is spoken and sang in local language so all I can do is watch the actions of the puppets.
19/10/2017 - Entrance fee: Adult = 100,000 VND, Child = 60,000 VND. It’s quite not bad experience to see the Show which takes 40-50 mins!

The show was nice, even though it got a little repetitive towards the end. I wish the audience would actually watch it and not just take pictures all the time.
A bit touristy . You need to book tickets early to get some good seats but it’s interesting and something different.
No subtitles.. I really Donno what 7 you saying. If you would like to sleep, this is the right place. No star!!
Show is too long but worth a visit once while in Hanoi.
We have been twice. Our kids surprisingly captivated it. Definitely a must do for families visiting
The shows are performed in a waist-deep pool. A large rod supports the puppet under the water and is used by the puppeteers, who are normally hidden behind a screen, to control them.
Totally worth the $5 ticket. Buy one at the box office when you arrive for a show the next day for better seats.
Very worth it. I have never seen anything like this before. However, there is an extra fee for taking pictures. But nobody checks...
It's worth a try to witness the tradition of the country . The music is very very sophisticated and developed throughout many years.
The water puppet show is better in Saigon: more interesting storyline , more sophisticated tricks, and less propagandistic dialogue (i.e. you won't hear the word "comrade" even once).
If you want to take picture, don't buy the camera ticket , just bring small camera and put it in your bag, they'll never check once you inside, DSLR user might have trouble to hide the camera
Thought it was a bit childish but I did enjoy every single minutes of the show! Love it
sit at the right side of stage to see the musicians
My friend and her daughter enjoyed the show so much. So I think it’s nice to see something new.
Pretty fantastic. That was the best one hundred thousand dong I ever spent.
Great show. Very unique. It should've probably been about 20 mins instead of 45 mins. A lot of it appears to be repetitious.
A priceless opportunity to explore the world of water puppetry for 100k vnd
The staff are unfriendly, but the show is excellent.
Worth a trip, very entertaining!
Buy tickets days in advance, lower expectation and try to get seats upfront or else you will just see people's head
Interesting way to see the historical and cultural heritage of Vietnamese people
Buy the ticket in advance if you can. Shows will get sold out.
Only in Vietnamese but you can enjoy their comical movement and music .
it is supposed to be a must-see but it might be better suited for children than adults....
Seating was TIGHT! Sit on the aisle if you can.
A pretty safe place to go. No too sophisticated. Enjoyed music as much as the show.
Cheap tickets. No translation of what's happening however
Very entertaining the only water puppet show in the world.
get your tickets early, from you hotel if you can. if your seat is between 5 and 14 get there early, rows are tight.
An interesting activity in Hanoi Old Quarter - Water Puppet Show Read more
It's quite unique and traditional.
A nice, attractive show :-)
Puppets for older kids - gets very busy
Kinda boring...you should know the storyline prior the show otherwise you re lost & bored feom second one
Don't bother with a camera pass unless you're sitting in the front two rows. Too many heads and upraised cameras in the way, otherwise.
Worth watching to appreciate the Vietnam history .
Nothing spectacular but worth visiting once when in Hanoi.
Fantastic show!
Maybe fun for children? Take ear plugs as the music is extremely loud .
Nice show and entertaining
