Really nice Argentine restaurant , try to make it once while visiting Buenos Aires. The steaks and intimate atmosphere , plus ample selection of wines created a memorable dinner before moving on,

This lovely restaurant faces a cobbled street corner in the Soho district and has a rustic , bijou interior of bare brick walls and wooden tables gathered around a sizzling open grill. Read more

Best Parilla in Latin America, located in beautiful Palermo neighborhood . Make sure to call for reservation . If you aren’t able to reserve , they serve sparkling wine while you wait, on the house.

Denis Perino

Bife de Chorizo ancho was great. Very good food at reasonable price. If you haven’t booked a table, make sure you come early (20min before opening) as the line gets big. Best parrilla in BA so far!

Benson Bleier

Best Parilla in BA. All the steaks are top quality, and if requested cooked medium rare (jugoso). Start with the traditional blood sausage (morcilla).

Serious Eats

Classic steakhouse known for their top-notch grass fed beef (order the entraña and bife de chorizo ) and excellent wine selection . Make sure to sign your wine bottle at the end of the meal.

Martin Quintana

Came without reservation table for 3 ½ ... just wait a bit, sparkling wine for the wait... stunning service and high quality steaks ... all sausage , cold cuts , cheese butter home-made..just I will back

Erika Elorza

If you love the delicious food, you have to go!!!! The provoleta cheese was gorgeous, and the empanada , the meat...everything ???? the service is also very good.

SuYeone Jeon

MAKE SURE to reserve your seat at the bar ! You can experience what "parrilla" means right in front of their cooking the meat. Honestly Don Julio had the BEST steak I've ever tasted in my life.

Aike

Steak , service and especially the wines were excellent. So is the hype justified? If you don’t mind that there are cheaper places with comparable steak quality in BA, this place is a great choice.

Matthias

The tenderloin was out of this world! ???? Don Julio deserves the reputation but compared to other really good restaurants the price you’ll pay is up there as well . Still highly recommended!! ????????

Anna Merkoulovitch

Loved it! We too were afraid of it being too touristy and gimicky, but ended up having a wonderful time! Delicious food and wine , very kind hosts! Definitely go, no line on a Sunday!

Nikos B

Best steak house in Buenos Aires. Bief de chorizo . Grilled provolone . Make a reservation and enjoy delicious food.

Ariane

The hype is real. Got there at 9 PM without a reservation and they were able to seat us at around 10:45. While everyone waits outside champagne and empanadas are passed around. The food was incredible

sesim

Nothing unexpected about the meat but the grilled cheeses are surprisingly good. Order the grilled veggies as well with your ribs ;)

Hani Gurung Khaursar

So we've heard a lot about this place and it doesn't disappoint. The wine is great. The provolone (melted cheese ) is ok, the sausages good & the steak is cooked really well ! Not that pricey . Worth it!

Noah Weiss

The hype is real, and warranted. Perfect steaks and simple, delicious vegetables — tomatoes a must — for a great meal. Deserves its Top 50 in the world status.

Werther Veulemans

Absolutely the best meat you’ll eat in any way possible. Moist, tender and perfectly cooked till you take a first bite and realize that you’ve reached the nirvana.

Amber

A celebrated Argentinian steak establishment with a warm interior and an open kitchen so you can watch all the different cuts getting grilled to perfection. Don't skip the grilled provolone w peppers .

Allison Niksich

Try the bif a la chorizo - I never knew I could eat so much meat it was melt in your mouth delicious!! I had it with the smoked eggplant - highly recommend ????

Will Vanderhoef

This is the best steakhouse I've ever been to. Dinner here was significantly better than LaCabrera. Get a proveleta or two.

Angelo Roman

Everything is perfect! The meat is always good and the service is awesome! Reasonable prices! Try the lamb chorizo

Charlotte Jacobs

Our favorite ‘parrilla’ in Argentina - we went here twice. The blood sausage is amazing as a starter, and the steaks are from extremely high quality.

OJ Brat

Oh man, Don Julio, you the man. Had my favorite cut here, tira de asado. Don Julio has obviously prepped tira de asado before. Ok, the chef might not be called Don Julio but this place is kick ass!!!

JK

Excellent Argentine steak . Nice wine and you get a free sparkling when waiting for seat. Booking essentially S there are a lot of people waiting even booked

Tom TG

If you have to wait for a table (8-1030pm is peak hour) you'll be served a free champagne and delicious canapés. Butterflied ribs are excellent but the lomo is next-level. Service is spot on.

Celmar Dallagnol

Great place to eat the real Argentinian meat, they have good wines as well . You must order assado de tira with a Pinot noir from Patagonia. For desert , suspiro porteño is the best! Price ok

George Rodrigues

Went with a bife de chorizo ancho . Incredible cubierto, warm italian bread and chimichurri or butter. The beef itself was divinely succulent and tasty. Service was impeccable. Best beef I've ever had.

Megan Allison

Unbelievable crowd management and restaurant operations - like watching a symphony. Delicious food, perfect steak in a lovely room, too

Margaux Cléach

I have been to Don Julio twice, the meat is EXCELLENT. Once it was on a Friday night without reservation so I waited 1h15.. but it was worth it! The empanadas are really good - unlike the dessert ..!

Abdullah ????

Really good argentine restaurant . The steaks are way good here. Empanadas is a must

Gökhan Egene

Very difficult to criticise, from the welcome proseco to the services,it is one of the best experiences you can have..don’t listen to the unhappy born complainers..don’t expect respect for yr LvL bag

Irina Leonidovna

Filet and ojo de bife were amazing :-) also their chorizo with mozzarella and tomato was so unique

Tom Moore

Provoleta cabra was amazing along with the steaks and wine .

Paulo Rementeria

It is one of the best parrillas in Buenos Aires, food quality is top notch, service is great. Expensive, yes; but worthy.

Tiffany Yau

Very cozy place, good food, good steak . And they have very good Argentina wine in reasonable price. Check it out when you dine there.

Daniel Martin

Grilled vine tomatoes and Beef de Chorizo Ancho!

Martiniano Sus

Best grill in Buenos Aires by far, try mollejas, bife de chorizo and two wines : Kaiken Ultra and Tapiz ????

Beka C

Come here for the steak but splurge a bit on sides for the full effect. My steak "a punto" was full on rare, but otherwise a fine experience - this is a tourist trap but worth checking off the list.

jlo

Best steakhouse by far! Is it how it's cooked or just the quality of meat? Great atmosphere. Service is very fast.

David Hall

Book ahead as it gets very busy. Try sharing two (or more) different cuts of meat.

m b

Excellent service . The lomo and chorizo we had were exceptionally good. Not the cheapest parilla but overall pretty good ratio of quality to price. Reservation is a good idea

Esteban Szasz

Go for classic stuff... Provoleta , Chorizo and Bife de Chorizo . Very good wine menu as well .

Hadrien van Hecke

Definitely better than la cabrera . No salad with the meat so be sure to order a side dish if you don't want only meat on your plate. Volveré para la entraña !

Jon Bills

Waited 45 minutes for a table we had reserved ! Service is a little snippy but the food and wine is good (unless you're vegetarian : you get some pretty standard pasta )

Özge Tosun

Best steak i had in BA! Sirloin and tenderloin are delicious, the beaf is so tender, the knife cuts without effort. Short ribs are not so good, too fatty for our taste.

Sabrina Wachter

best service, best steak , best everything. definitely a must go-to when in buenos aires!!

Esteban Szasz

Go for the classic stuff. Provoleta + Chorizo + Bife de Chorizo . Great wine menu as well .

From The World Blog

What differs Don Julio from other parrillas are the papas rejillas a provençal Crispy , Crunchy and with a taste of garlic . Nice meat! More at http://fromtheworld.me/2011/12/08/bue-don-julio/
