Plaça del Rei (Spanish: Plaza del Rey, meaning "King's Square") is a 14th-century medieval public square in the Barri Gòtic of Barcelona.

This is where Christopher Columbus first came in Barcelona after discovering America. The tower (mirador de Martí l'Humà) is where suposedly the Queen awaited for the ships to come back from America!

We happened to be walking by and there was a live band and dancing right in the plaza . It was a magical evening and so sporadic!

Free admission on Sundays (see website for details), very informative and well laid out museum, with a reconstructed Roman version of Barcelona. Very interesting. Would definitely recommend! - Matt Ng
