It's a rather big place, so set aside at least a few hours if you want to see everything. The descending from on foot takes about 45 mins, the terrain is not so difficult and a big experience.
Did you know that Masada was built on top of a flat rock plateau at the western end of the Judean Desert? Masada means “fortress ” and it is approximately 1800 x 900 feet in size. Our passengers love!
Built by Herod , King of Judea, Masada was a palatial fortress in the style of the ancient Roman East.
Don't forget the cap on your head and a bottle of water when visiting
A great stop on any tour of Israel. King Herod 's winter palace .
Fantastic view over the northern and southern parts of the Dead Sea
Don't miss the sunrise ! Better to get here by 4:40am! Climb all the way up for stunning view ! Cheers!
Look for their cultural events that take place at night. Amazing
Site opens an hour before sunrise , which gives you just enough time to hike up the Snake Path and view it from the top.
If going up without a tour guide, do an audio tour . The ruins aren't as interesting without the back stories and color commentary. Cover your head to stay cooler from the sun.
Don't miss the sunrise ! 5:30 am! Better to get here by 4:40am! Enjoy ;)

Drink lots of water, bring sun screen, and take your time to appreciate this place
Use sun screen! Or better yet, wrap yourself up in cloth like a Bedouin in the desert.
Masada is UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortress was the last stand of the Jewish rebels who rose against the Roman Empire in 66 CE. Check out the intricate water cisterns throughout the site!
