By far the best restaurant we've eaten in HCMC. Most dishes are farm to table dishes that are easily shared. Come with a large party so you can try as many dishes from the extensive menu.

Tino

Nice place for a bit more fancy dinner . Food is great but I expected much more. Tofu (with chilli and lemongrass ) was according to my wife the best tofu she ever had in her life - and she loves tofu

mepi teerak

always request a table by window ^_^ delicious fried pumpkin flowers with garlic , nice tofu with lemongrass and chili , good shrimps clay pot with star fruits and chicken with passion fruits sauce ^_^

Diane Lucille Suarez

Excellent food wonderful staff beautifully decorated it’s a very old restaurant so the decor is like traditional Vietnamese style . Loved my meal everything was so fresh and presented so nicely.

Kwok Tang

Delicious food. Highlights chicken & apple leaves salad , pork spring told & stir fried prawns . Interesting drinks aswell. Only slight criticism - the menu is like a novel & will take time to digest

suzy q

One of the most incredible taste experiences here. The fried tofu with chili is heavenly and any combination of meat+veg you request will come out just perfect. Make reservation , place crowds quickly.

Ting

The food is good and does have a home cooked taste. Not cheap by Vietnamese standards, u will find more tourists and expats dining here. Environs add to the home dining vibe.

Ayeshah Alam Khan

Their food is fantastic! We asked the owner to help us out with the menu and let him recommend dishes for us. Their soft shell crabs , mushrooms , and seafood in lemongrass along with tofu were amazing

Cuong Ta

The best place to experience vietnamese food with the traditional taste . The services of this place is so good, the waiters can speaks English very well , they can explain in detail the food.

Jonathan Nguyen

Brilliant food and amazing building. This is what modern Vietnamese should taste like. If it's your first time, I recommend you bypass the giant menu and let your waiter pick a few things for you

Thai Nguyen

I love this place. It has a very classy and unique design for a restaurant . The food price isn't so bad, and every thing that I had was very delicious. I would recommend anyone to try out this place.

Chantal Storm

Dine with the likes of brangelina! Great Vietnamese food for sharing in groups. Try the passionfruit fish , morning glory and eggplant . Cocktails are tasty and exotic too.

CNN

Homemade tofu is creamy and pliant and sure to convince the doubters. Other highlights include soft shell crab and beautifully textured red rice . Read more

We have tried couple of various dishes and everything was more then delicious! Only I would recommend to avoid jelly dessert because it’s not very flavorful!

Zucchini flower rocks. Order also the soft shell crab with sea salt . Very good home cook meal . Fully recommend to visit to understand

Narasati

Fresh and delish Vietnamese food that tastes like homemade , with warm ambience and very reasonable price. The salads are amazing and the soft shell crab (fried or tamarind ) as well .

Ashley Dando

Everything was delicious at this small neighborhood restaurant . Forget the menu and just ask for a selection of delicious things. It was well worth it!

Bien Nguyen

Food is great, you really feel the taste of Viet cuisine. The decor is stunning too. Don't forget to order tofu with lemongrass .

Bang Tran

Definitely a great place to try Vietnamese foods for expats. They have 2 resto in opposite to each other. Staff is fluent in English and can recommend good choices to you

Kwok Tang

Loved the decor, very unusual & quirky. Layout was like lots of separate small dining rooms instead of one large room. Unusual entrance/staircase pictured

Jim A.

Cuc Gach is a traditional but fairly touristy restaurant . The waiters wear headsets to communicate with the kitchen. It takes the charm away a bit. But that doesn't take the taste away ;). Enjoy!

Angie Nguyen

Traditional southern Vietnamese food . From the taste to the decoration is very impressive. However when I came back the services became pretty bad and i hope it would change soon.

Eric

The fried tofu with lemongrass/chili is life-changing. Prawns with tamarind sauce and soft-shelled crab were both great. And they have a million kinds of greens, cooked however you like.

Valerie Le

Amazing restaurant with great service! Everything here was delicious and authentic . They have a huge selection of vegetarian options as well :)

Jenny

Definitely try to homemade tofu with lemongrass + chilli . All the salads taste great! Just ask your server for recommendations.

Digbyza .

Amazing decor, rustic yet stylish atmosphere . The garden space has been used well to create a charming, relaxing aesthetic.

Best Vietnamese food we came across in HCMC! Get the garlic soft shell crabs , the tofu with lemongrass+chili and the pumpkin flower fritters . You won't regret it.

Anh Duy

Best of the best for Vietnamese traditional cuisine . The deliciousness, the art of serving food, the service, the interior design are so cool and highly consistent.

Ding CK

Excellent traditional Vietnamese food in a fine dining environment. Price very steep compare to street prices.

K C

Awesome food in an awesome Vietnamese decor. Price was also awesome - USD42 for this.... But we would go back... :)

Char-Maine Tan

Amazing choice of Vietnamese food , cooked almost to perfection with the right tastes blended together and fresh meat . Take a cab to get here, as its within the inner streets.

Ian Anderson

A dining experience worth having bringing design and plate together. We had caramelised pork in clay pot paired with pickled mustard leaves; prawns in tamarind sauce ; deep fried chicken legs.

Andy

Amazing food, beautiful decor, friendly staff . Definitely try the soft shell crab sautéed in rock salt and the deep fried tofu with salt pepper and lime

Nicole Tanska

The caramelized tofu in clay pot with steamed rice with nuts and seeds! Get some greens and maybe fish or chicken sautéed in chili and lemongrass .

Briana Bailey

Stick with the tofu and vegetarian dishes . The vegetables were very good! But the meats were tough and hard to eat because it seemed they were over cooked. Sautéed Pumpkin flower was great.

Thirunavin Raj Krishnan

Prawn in claypot starfruit was great, signature tofu is superb, pork lemongrass was also good. No fork n spoon, so prep to eat wit chopstick

Franco

Absolutely a must in Saigon where go and taste the Vietnamese cuisines . Great location and service. Everything is good and cheap

Herve Roussel

The menu is very overwhelming. My friend Linh has come up with the perfect menu for the perfect experience! <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="https://linhdini.wordpress.com/2013/05/19/cuc-gach/"target="_blank" data-sig="iOorEAWT8JmTg+BhXncoUjVw7lk=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">https://linhdini.wordpress.com/2013/05/19/cuc-gach/</a>

Take the taxi ride. It's worth it. Don't bother opening the menu. Tell the waiter about any allergies, likes or dislikes and hold on for a great meal!

Stephen

Do try the caramelized tofu with brown rice . Exceptional. Even though the restaurant has been open only briefly, it is already becoming quite a popular place to dine. Highly recommended.

Shadi Adnan

Vast variety of vietnamese speciality. Decor is superb woody warm cozy place.

Ian Nicolson

Great food.the menu is very extensive but the staff are very helpful .

Tuộc Bạch

A mixture of Vietnamese authentic cuisine that satisfies both modern and traditional tastes . A must-try place on town .

Mike G.

get the braised mushrooms and cóc drink (I preferred the sour taste without the honey but unique nonetheless). softshell crab was good too

Louis Tye

Yes, yes , yes!, very authentic 60's designed eating house. love the place for its quiet and peaceful surrounding . suitable for business lunch .

vivan thi tang

prefer the original side vs. the new one across the street. avoid on weekends as the service tremendously suffers when they're busy. ca kho, lemongrass tofu , sauteed zuchini flowers are ace.

Gerald Simpson

Great atmosphere with authentic Vietnamese food . #Soft shell crab , tofu , salads are all great- you can't go wrong.

Nico Cardone

It might look like a tourist trap but it is truly delicious food and a great way to explore the Vietnamese kitchen.

Anh Thu Nguyen

Chris L

Basic home-cooked Vietnamese food . Perfect for when your grandma can no longer cook for you. But it's aiight. The menu is hard to read.
