I ride the ferry every day to/from work and have to give KUDOS to the staff ... they are friendly & full of smiles.... say thank you to them every once in a while... make their day better !!

The free ferry service provided by TxDOT is the only way motorists can cross the waterway between Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island .

Call 409-795-2230 for the status of the ferry , they will tell you if there is a wait to get on and how long the wait may be.

Walk onto the Ferry instead of drive. It's quicker to get on and off, plus it's romantic . Bring bottled water. There are restrooms and benches upstairs in the pax area

Fun way to see part of the island from the water

If your an idiot and cut in front of people that have waited in line like you're supposed to be prepared to be honked at, cussed at and get a $500 ticket. Spring break weekend is max fines, Jerks!

Do not try to drive up the right lane and cut in line . The police give tickets for that. We saw 4 people trying to slip in line and the police pull them over. Just wait like everyone else.

Don't have anything on you that you shouldn't have, they be searching. Lookin at your inspection sticker too. #haters
