I discovered this place after listening to 107.7 The Bone Radio here in NY and I must say it was worth the 2600+ mile trip! The smell, the nostalgia, the LP's, everything about this place is amazing.
A gorgeous throwback to a sorely missed era. Alt rock, indie music and some rare classics in vinyl are among their inventory. There’s also an in house green pain clinic .
Of course their collection is fantastic. They even have hard to find anime DVDs. More importantly though, don't miss the free live concerts from up and coming artists .
One of the biggest record stores I've visited. Good if you are looking for new tracks , not very user friendly and rich in collection if you are looking for older tracks and treasure hunting
The best record store in the Bay Area. It's a gigantic musical wonderland for the enthusiastic record connoisseur. Don't plan on spending just an hour or two here, you will likely blow off your plans.
If you love Vinyl and would like to lose track of some time and money, this is the place to visit. Good selection on 45s. Nice punk finds.
Drugs everywhere; Great music inside, look for early Moscow Phil recordings or Berlin Phil recordings or Shostakovich and Mahler. Did I already say there is ton of music in here? And drugs
Leave your backpack at the entrance and spend a serious amount of time browsing the solid "used" sections. The place is huge! They also have video games and movies
This is one of the greatest stores in the world. Having my entire music catalog in their database is the icing on the cake !
Amoeba us the record store to end all record stores . They have...everything. If you get paralyzed your first time out just buy an Amoeba reusable tote. You always need one in SF.
If I ever win the lottery , I'm never walking back through that door or I'd blow it all in an hour. An amazing selection of vinyl . Their branded merch is dope.
Huge record and cd store. Must visit if you like music and its culture.
Great selection of vinyl . Prices are a little high but you can't beat the selection offered in this store. Don't park in the McDonalds next door. They tow.
Not just records! There are vintage posters, t-shirts and an excellent selection of books . Plus there's a movie area!
Amazing records selection and one of the coolest hidden gems in SF! You can also head to Golden Gate Park afterwards!
Go for the free in-store concerts and stay for the heavenly vinyl finds. This is my favorite place to waste a lot of time, and yes, sometimes money!
Had a great experience there. A lot to dig in and really friendly staff .

Quite friendly and nice store and they have wonderful selections and there folk section is quite good
Great selection of music . I recommend making a list of items you want before you enter there so you aren't to overwhelmed like I was with the mass amounts of music . Its tough to just "browse ."
Get your vinyls here, they have a very large selection. the place is huge and you kinda feel you're in the 70s or 80s
Excellent store with a vast selection of used classical CDs. Lots of great stuff for $3 or less!
Very affordable ! They have a huuuuge selection, and people are helpful!
A place to get lost among records, both CDs and vinyl . Great!
They have a humongous shelf dedicated to Fillmore Auditorium concert posters. Give them a browse , you'll find a band/poster to love.
It's an institution. All kinds of wax, and Debby Harry bobble heads.
Head to San Francisco’s wing of the Amoeba Music empire for Mandala, a biweekly DJ series that shows off staff spinning skills.
