For all the English speakers, this place is excellent. We ate the meal for 2 (back page) with mixed meats - was divine. The people are lovely, service amazing, Chaya margarita delicious!
Great value for your money. Tasty food. If you, like us, dumbly decide to chow down on a habañero pepper the staff will gladly help with a glass of milk which shows of the excellent service.
Very nice place! Typical Mexican food ! Hand made tortillas , panuchos , you can order a shark in banana leaves and a lot of different dishes! Recommend to try Vampiros cocktail (for those who like spicy )
Really good ! The menu shows the calories and the food is awesome ! Probably any selection is top of the Yucatán food, mine selection was it. I come back tomorrow
I love this place! They have the authentic local food, it reminds me of my grandmas food. I would highly recommend you to try the option of "4 typical dishes" of the menu and drink "Agua de Chaya "
If you’re looking for typical Yucatan dishes, search no more. Authentic food, good prices, centric location able to sit large groups. Deserts are also recommended, specially the one with papaya .
Even haven’t heard about such dishes in Mexican kitchen) Papadzul - simple, but nice!Queso relleno - unusual combination of cheese , meat and olives with a great sauce.
Try as many margaritas (Margarita de Chaya and Jamaica with Mezcal to start) as you can. Oh yeah, and the food is amazing too!
The soup lime was excellent! The best one we tried in Merida ????
Everything. I had the 4 yucas which offers a tasting of 4 different local dishes and it was amazing.
Authentic and delicious food. Must try the Tamal Colado and the Torta de cochinita . Expect waiting a bit for the table but it’s totally worthed
Everything was good. Excellent food and plenty of it. The people are nice and well trained to give the service. Ask for Raúl
Apparently a Merida classic. It seems there are two Chaya Mayas. Quite popular so plan for a short wait . Be sure to look out for and to tip the handmade tortilla makers
This place rises the bar on Sopa de Lima and Cochinita Pibil . Totally recommended.
Great breakfast - great price & attentive service . Fruit , juice , coffee & 3 cochinita pibil tacos for 89pesos - such a deal!
We had tacos and new york steak but they were not that amazing. It was a bit disappointing. Cocktails are 51 pesos when beers are 47 pesos so fairly priced .
I got the 4 Yucatan dish with the tortillas which was delicious, and so much variety!! Would recommend
Typical food from Yucatán. Probably the most popular and traditional. Closes at 11 pm. Friendly service . Good food
Wait in line for sure. It's worth it! Tacos are awesome, but the winner is mole and marguarita!
This place totally lived up to its reviews, the food is spectacular. It was full and we had to be put on the waiting list but the service is really fast so we got a table in about 20 min.
Try the Mayan breakfast : Outstanding. Very friendly staff . Don't hesitate to ask if you need an explanation of what each dish is.
Authentic local food, the relationship between price and quality is great. A must if you visit Mérida.
All authentic Yucatan food cooked with right ingredients. Must visit when travelling to Merida
Amazing food with an individual taste and very different to many of the other standard restaurants in the area.
We tried 2 dishes that were delish! Huevos Mottelenos (sp?) & turkey w/mole sauce very rich but good!
Very nice atmosphere, good menu and price for quality, highly recommended.
Delicious food at a good price, and really friendly staff . You can see the lady who makes tortillas fresh all night. Me gusta mucho la chaya .
Nice service. The food was... Okay... Maybe we made some poor picks during breakfast .
Amazing and amazing!!
Handmade tortillas , you can watch them being made.
Great Chaya-based cocktails and the Chicken Pibil (wrapped in banana leaf ) was delicious
tasty local food, service friendly and quick, feels much less touristic or artsy-fartsy like other places
Best Mayan restaurant in merida. Good food, good price, fast service
read in review that this place was a turist trap, but local people recommended it. The food and service was OK, but next time I would try a different place.
Panchos, sopa Lima and The Chaya juice are delicious. The prices are cheap .
Sopa de Lima is lovely and tasty
Very crowded and touristy but place. Interesting menu but a little to "experimental" for me.Ladies dressed up on traditional costume baking tortillas and posing for pics..
Tailored for fatso Americans .Suedo Cheese in a supposed healthy Chaya soup was more like a dip for tortilla chips . Turkey was reheated and cries of children exasperated the already woeful experience.
Authentic Yucatan food , including tacos .
Excelente option for breakfasts , lunch or dinner . Tasty meals, no pricey .
Try the Poc-Chuc and salbutes with cochinita pinil. Delicious!! mayan food ever!
Very good menus for two for only 200 Pesos
I love the Chaya lemonade and the cochinita pibil
Cocktails are cheap however not very much alcohol is added. Would still return for the food alone!
Lined up and food was worth it. Very large meals so enough to split.
Excelent restaurant , came with 5 friends ans ordered different things, poc-chuc was the clear favorite among all of us.
Good local food, for locals and tourists alike!

Chaya drink, sopa de Lima , and the best tacos !
Good veggie choices: Papadzules an Panuchos sans the turkey .

Insanely good food! Chaya drinks, Yucatan chicken, almond fish, goat milk based caramel crepes!! - Dee Zee
If you haven’t eat breakfast at Habaneros, what are you waiting for, simply amazing, excellent food and service. Simply out of this world - Israel Burgos
If its hot, enjoy delicious ice cream in bizarre flavors on the north side of the plaza. Sit in multi-colored ice cream chairs and eat mango, mamay or mandarina ice cream. Delicious! - YucatanLiving
Great nieve (ice-cream), especially the mango one. Get a $40 sorbete, it's enough for one. - Pol Gomà Deàs
Four free museums and a church all in walking distance. - Maggie MacG
