A beautiful hiking trail , goes in different paths, careful not get lost somewhere in the woods where the trail gets extremely narrow...
If you go in the summer, BRING WATER ! Like, WAY more than you think you'll need. I'm a seasoned hiker/athlete and the heat combined with virtually zero shade were too much for me!

Park on Fern Dell or the lot just north, look for the trail heading northeast about 30 mins up to the observatory . Great hike ! Bring water .
Lots of different trails . Pick one and hike ! Bring water though because there are no water fountains anywhere.
Some trails -- everything is unmarked -- end with a fence. Please, park rangers, can't you put signage at the other end to say a trail is closed?
The most peaceful place near the Franklin Village . Strongly recommended for scriptwriters????????
