Great place for a day out in Stockholm. Make sure to pop in to the old workshops and talk to the people who inhabit them. The guides are very knowledgeable and dressed accordingly. There's also a zoo .
The world’s oldest open air museum was founded by Artur Hazelius in 1891. Immerse yourself into a miniature historical Sweden .
It was an outdoor museum for Sweden . Real houses, school, farms , and animals they collect it and bring it to show the real old life. It was new experience for me. I was really happy and interesting ????
A very good place to take people visiting Sweden to any time of the year. Has something for people of all ages. This and the Wasa Museum are probably the best and least gimmicky tourist spots.
My favourit place in Stockholm! It is also nice to visit in autumn. Have a look at people which are working and living like hundred years ago and have a nice chat with them.
Skansen is great for families - not just the Nordic animals like bear , lynx and wolverine, but also old houses and buildings brought here from around the country . Explore Swedish history and culture.
The oldest open-air museum in the world. Visit the historic buildings and don't forget to talk to the guides in them. They are very knowledgeable and they speak perfect English.
Something here for everyone. The historical buildings are fascinating. The animals are beautiful with big enclosures and demonstrations from baking crispbread to feeding wolves . Well worth the visit.
Go see the zoo , with bears , seals, wolves and a few other Nordic animals . Lots of historic buildings to poke around, many transported from all over Sweden . Lots of tranquil spots to sit.
A wonderful experience, so much to do. A lot of space and walking. Food is great. Animals including Moose and Reindeer . If there is an event on you can stay late too after the park has closed.
Combination cultural centre, zoo and historical installation. Animals include wolves , bears , wolverines, lynx and farm animals. Children's zoo / play barn for littles. All outdoors!
One of the most beautiful open air museums/zoo in Europe. It’s not an ordinary zoo , there not a lot of animals, but the aviaries are huge! You can actually see how animals behave on a real environment
Here's a tip from some people that aren't generally keen on museums . But Skansen is sooo much more. It's an experience and every little house welcomes you with a different story. Must do!
very nice open air museum with fascinating old buildings . you can learn a lot of interesting things from the past of Sweden of the guides who're awaiting the visitors in specific houses
Amazing experience. A bit expensive but totally worth it. If you want to see everything, it will take you lots of hours. Prepare to walk and leave exhausted. But, as I said, it's worth it.
Great for children and adults. Lots of fun to learn about Swedish past through reenactment of old professions, like glassblowing, and about the Sami people. Nice zoo with farm & wildlife from Sweden .
Very interesting mix of old historical buildings and scandinavian animals. Though I'm a bit sceptical to the whole idea of keeping animals locked up in the first place.
Fantastic insight into Swedish history, from poor to noble. Lovely demonstrations of how different crafts were done. Guides are dressed accordingly. They are very knowledgeable with lots of trivia .
So much to see here... There's a Christmas market and we had the chance to listen to a Christmas concert in the old church . The zoo is nice, the reindeers and the Lynx are cute .
One of the best places for families. Me and my kids had so much fun. We enjoyed that day and would love to visit again
Visit this nice outdoor museum and zoo . See moses, bears , wolfs and more. Enjoy many of the fantastic views as Skansen is located on a hill with view over Stockholm at many places. Read more

This zoo and open air museum is home to animals like brown bears , otters, wolves , red foxes, otters, etc. Go here during the summer and enjoy lots of folk dances and musical performances .
A beautiful open air museum that showcases Swedish lifestyle between the 16th and 20th centuries. Take the escalator on the left, visit the Town Quarter, then walk through Rose Garden .
After the Rose Garden , visit the Sami Camp, and then make your way to visit animals whose natural habitat is Sweden . On the way down, make sure to pet the rams and pigs at the Oktorp Farmstead.
Great for observing authentic scandinavian life of the past. There are more Swedish families with babies than tourists .Animals aren't in cages and lots of peacock , duck and chicken walk around freely.
A nice open air museum in the museum island . There is a nice Christmas market during december. Many local products but remember to bring cash.
the first open air museum might sounds dull but it is a great place for relaxation, education and fun activities. Make sure to try out to blow your own glassornaments and pay a visit to Restaurant Sol Read more

A must do in Stockholm - very good value .See the wildlife and full history of Sweden in the oldest open air museum in the world - not naff - genuine. Try and stay late - it is quiet .
As for the zoo part; if you're looking for exotic animals, you're in the wrong place. Mostly domestics, bears and so on. Still worth a visit though, as it's a lovely park .
Open air museum and zoo . Nice to spend a day in the middle of bits of Swedish life and style from across the country .
Travel through time! Stay in touch with the nature and learn a lot about life in mid age in this part of the world. Count that you'll need few hours for Skansen at least, but it's worth!
It was a nice day with toddler there. Lots of activities and learning. History combined with nature. Lots of anymals. Definitely worth to visit.
It's pretty awesome, you have a lot of things to see. The only problem is that the most of interactive houses and activities closes up at 5 p.m. But all together I think it's worth 150 SEK. :)
Excellent day activity for the family when you are in Stockholm. There is a small number of carousels for younger children, but they cost extra.
Great place to experience Swedish culture in very beautiful surroundings. Perhaps a more pleasing and relaxing experience for parents than even for the kids.
Oldest open-air museum in the world! A bit of luck and you'll see elks ,reindeers and even wolves
A must see if you're in Stockholm. It's a zoo , and also a replica of an old Swedish village .
