An incredible collection considering it's a University museum . I enjoyed it better than the Louvre. Beautiful buildings, well marked and described pieces. Not as crowded . Free entry!
I work at the Fitz - my tip is the Fan gallery (fans) & Rothschild gallery (medieval works & illuminated manuscripts). They are small but full of great objects. They are near the courtyard entrance.
This museum is not very crowded while I was visiting it has a wide range of things from history different centuries and community's.
Absolutely amazing!! World-class collections of works of art and antiquities spanning centuries and civilisations (Rome, Greece, Egypt).
Great museum , alot of different items shown, egyptian but also european paintings . Free entrance which is also nice.
Described as “one of the greatest art collections of the nation”, the Fitzwilliam courtyard is also a pleasant place to stop for tea and discuss your favourite pieces!
It's a must to visit this beautiful museum , don't miss it ????
Love the art section from the shop
Some fantastic Impressionists, for somewhere so far from town
If Roman History is your thing, then there's a top collection of actual Roman Coins, busts, and statues (amongst other things) on the sub-level. Keep an eye out for an actual Denarius of Augustus.
Very nice museum with helpful staff
Lots of things to see. Allocate more than 2 hours or even more if you're a history nut

Such beautiful place

Beautiful little museum with informative displays that tell a fascinating story. Perfect for a short (30-60 min) visit. A must for adventure lovers. - Marie S.
While not as extensive as the bigger museums, the old-fashioned approach to displays and storytelling here feels unusual and interesting. Great for a quick visit (under an hour) for kids and adults. - Marie S.
Cozy pub with lots of history. Good beer selection, decent food, friendly atmosphere. - Erika Robbins
