Inaugurated by King Leopold II in 1878, it's one of Europe's oldest dams . Although it's been criticized for being overengineered the dam helped setting the standard for masonry gravity dam technology.
Worth stopping at if you happen to be driving through the region. Belgium's largest fresh water reservoir .
Perfect to visit with good weather and eat your picknick at one of the benches with a beautiful sight.

Un petit coin de jeux pour les enfants , une ballade , voir le lion immense et un très beau lac
Possibilité de louer un vélo électrique pour faire le tour du lac . Il faut plus ou moins 1h30 pour faire le tour .
Le tour du lac fait un peu moins de 15km. Randonnée très agréable !

Superbe, le tour du lac fait 15km!! Parfait pour une ballade à vélo .
Y venir bien accompagné, s'assoir sur un banc , regarder, respirer, ressentir, jouir ...
