If its possible avoid at all cost to stay at the hut. Rooms are terrible, bathrooms are worst then a summer festival shower zone. Get the lift down or pay 10 lev for a ride until the parking zone. - Joao Pereira

Nice re-built historical fortress near Samokov. It's about an hour drive with a car from Sofia. So it's a perfect destination for a daily family excursion. - Seti SVLetty
