This museum is so good, esp. for children. With free entry and very interactive exhibits , it is a labour of love. Must check out the Gallipoli exhibits , the colossal squid & the earthquake house .
Enormous but free-of-charge Te Papa provides geological, archeological, cultural, and historical perspectives to present-day New Zealand. Free wifi , thanks to the government + open late (9pm) Thurs
Amazing free museum , with great exhibits ! Really good gift shop too with some great items and reasonably priced...they don't try to gouge you like most gift shops .
The ANZAC tribute is a must see!!!! Worth the wait to get inside! You do have to check in your bags before you can go in. If there is a line downstairs there is a mini bag holding upstairs :)
World class museum . Start with the art collection at the top and make your way down, allow 4-6 hours if you want to check out everything. The Gallipoli exhibition is incredible!
Lovely big museum with free entry. Fascinating Māori culture exhibits with lots of information.
Great museum to discover New Zealand history! It is a huge place so you'll need more than one day! Gallipoli and Dreamworks exhibitions were awesome! Bonus : free entry!
Something for everyone, kids lower levels, adults upper ones. Check out the view from the observation deck
Terrific museum ! The Gallipoli exhibition was outstanding! Enjoyed experiencing the integration of the Maori culture in New Zealand. So far ahead of Australia.
It'a an amazing museum and free. Nice and affordable cafe in the first floor and free wifi in the whole building
Since it could rain anytime in Wellington. Time it right by going to this ginormous museum , which you probably can't do in one day, on the rainy days and the Botanic Garden for the sunny ones :)
Could easily spend the entire day here! Arrive early and try working your way through the museum from the top floors down.
The Gallipoli exhibit was definitely worth queuing up for.
The free Gallipoli exhibition , about the Battle of Anzac Cove from 25 April to December 1915, is incredibly moving and not to be missed. http://gallipoli.tepapa.govt.nz

This is probably the best museum out of 30 museums I’ve ever been too
Went to Game Masters. Didn't much time as had to catch a Ferry , but was incredible. Great to see such homage paid to the artists of our era. Thanks Te Papa.
Amazing museum ! Art , history and architecture in one place, presented in different and fun ways.

Very nice museum . Beautiful exhibitions . Try the Air NZ furure flight in the 4th floor ;)
Simply a must-do when in Wellington. Make sure you have look at the museum 's shop to find some souvenirs.
Some of the special exhibits they have can be worth a visit. The rest of the collection needs a refresh
Nice exhibition , free of charge, shows both history, art , natural history.
So much to see, make sure you have plenty of time. And don't miss the giant squid ...
So much to see here, check out as much as you can even if it takes you two visits
The paid entry exhibits are usually well worth it. My favourite was Game Masters.
I loved it, very much. Both the building and the exposition . The small documentary about LGBT in NZ is a gem.
Head up to the natural history of NZ section and see the pollen section. Great part of any museum ever.
Oh my. We love this museum . We often go after dinner just for an hour before it closes.
International visitor tickets are now $35. Entry for New Zealanders is still free.
Nice spot to chill if you're at the window seats at the cafe on ground floor.

The best way to experience Te Papa - start at the top and work your way down.
Golden Days! A must see, brilliant snapshot of New Zealand's social history. Needs updating but well worth seeing!
Love the museum . Check out the earthquake area.
Go to the observation deck at the very top (6th floor) for a sweeping view of Wellington.
Missed the earth quake simulator, you could spend easy a whole day. Every floor has a hall for children
Awesome place. Take your friends and family
Most exhibitions are free. Limited time exhibitions have a small fee. Eat at the cafe upstairs or somewhere else, not the one at the main entrance.
