【国 指定重要文化財 】豊臣秀吉が毎月一度千部経の転読供養をするため天正15年(1587)発願、安国寺恵瓊（あんこ くじえけい）を造営奉行として同17年(1589)ほぼ完成した大経堂である。文禄・慶長の出兵，秀吉の死去などにより天井板もはられず正面の階段もない未完成状態であるが、規模広壮、木 割雄大で軒丸瓦・唐草瓦に金箔をおすなどよく桃山時代（16世紀末）の気風を示している。(広島県教育 委員会より)
