The clock was built in 1924 for practical reasons - in order to let Riga people to be at work in time. Nowadays Laima clock is the main place for meeting of Riga people and guests.

Start a tour of art nouveau Riga from this clock: see the opera park , walk though bastion park , and continue towards Alberta iela and the art nouveau museum .

The original Laima-clock by the Milda monument and McDonalds (there is another one these days inside T/C Origo). However this is a Rīga classic meeting point .
